Koniag Government Services is seeking a Quality Assurance Tester with a Top Secret Clearance to join Arlluk in support of our government customer in Winchester, VA. The team is working on a variety of applications hosted in AWS and on prem. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of software applications through meticulous testing procedures. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge technology solutions while collaborating with a team of dedicated professionals. The position requires a Top Secret clearance. This position is partially remote.

Position Description:

The Quality Assurance Tester will be responsible for planning and executing test cases, identifying defects, documenting and tracking issues, and collaborating with software developers to troubleshoot problems. The key responsibilities include:

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Designing and implementing test plans and test cases based on software requirements.

  • Conducting functional, regression, usability, and performance testing of software applications.

  • Analyzing test results and reporting findings to stakeholders.

  • Participating in Agile software development processes to ensure high-quality deliverables.

  • Working closely with the development team to replicate, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.

  • Documenting testing procedures and results for future reference.

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance testing.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in developing test plans and test cases based on software requirements.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and document defects effectively.

  • Experience with functional, regression, and performance testing methodologies.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced Agile development environment.

  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical information clearly.

  • Familiarity with debugging tools and techniques to isolate and troubleshoot issues.

  • Knowledge of .Net development frameworks and cloud-based technologies.

  • Top Secret Clearance Required

Desired Skills and Competencies:

  • Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks.

  • Knowledge of cloud-based testing platforms and services.

  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

  • Certification in software quality assurance or testing.

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity practices in software testing.

  • Experience working with federal government IT systems.

  • Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and methodologies.

Working Environment & Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
